Marilyn Monroe

I watched a movie about Marilyn Monroe a couple of nights ago, and these are two of the comments that really stood out to me:

“I tried my best to change her, but she remains brilliant despite me.”

(Said by the character who played one of her directors – a director who gave her a really hard time and appeared to really dislike her.)

“Here’s what I remember most: her embrace, her belief in me, and the joy she gave. That was her gift.”

(Said by a young man who had his heart broken ‘a little’, yet still cherished every moment he spent with her)

I find this truly beautiful. A woman who was both soft and strong. She chose to be true to herself no matter what the world may say, and left a imprint on the heart of history.

Thank you Marilyn 🙂
