I saw this earlier today and was moved to tears. This man’s actions saved the lives of 669 children in the Holocaust, and even years later he sought no glory for his actions.
No-one would have ever known about him if they hadn’t stumbled across the scrapbook with the list of children – even the children themselves would not have known. He simply did what he felt was right; he gave freely and sought nothing in return.
Is there a greater definition of love that that?
Give because you feel to give. Love. You have no idea how far your actions will reach. Even if no-one else ever knows but you, the love you’ve given will go on infinitely. Just like the lives of these children, and their children, and then their children..
Love.
Thank you Sir Nicholas Winton. x
This story reminded me of a book I read called The Pied Piper by Nevil Shute. Even more amazing, but you get the idea
